I've been using TVs instead of monitors for gaming since 2007. I started with a 42'' AOC LCD (I still have it hooked up in a room somewhere). Currently, I'm on a 55'' LG OLED and it's *perfect*. Sure, there are better PC monitors for specific use cases (high Hz esports), but otherwise no, not really.
As we’ve seen from Vizio, TCL, Samsung, LG and Sony, there’s still a huge demand for lower-cost LED-LCD TVs as well as LED-LCD monitors. Those will continue to be produced for years to come — and will likely continue to drop in price — just don’t expect to see many improvements on them compared to their more expensive counterparts.
First LG's been ramping up production of oleds with new plants the last couple of years and have gotten to a point where yields and volume are both quite good. The second is that Samsung has gotten into the game with their oleds, providing competition and driving down the price.
9 Δεκ 2023 · However the 7800XT is designed for 1440 gaming and does a GREAT job. Could even save you some money, making that OLED display cost easier to swallow :-) Final question, not asked but often considered, should I just get an OLED TV instead of a monitor. This one is a cased based answer.
