USA Softball changed all that by adopting softball’s first universally accepted rules of play and by organizing consistent and fair competition across the nation. Since its inception, USA Softball has continued to establish uniform softball rules and regulations for the sport across the country.
28 Ιαν 2015 · I was reading the 2015 ASA rules and I noticed that if a fair batted ball hits a runner when they are on a base, the runner is not out. However the February 2012 Plays and Clarifications states the following:
12 Φεβ 2009 · As soon as the batter legally hits a fair ball, she is considered a runner and runs to first base. If the batter hits a foul ball, she receives a strike call, but a foul ball cannot lead to a third strike.
• If a pitched ball is hit on the back swing, it is a strike and a foul ball. • For each pitched ball swung at and missed which touches any part of the batter. NO HIT BATTER
2: The batter is permitted 4 attempts to hit the ball past the marked 35” neutral zone, which is a marked arch 35’ in front of home base and runs from 1st and 3rd baselines. Any interference by the defense in the neutral zone is a dead ball and batter gets additional swing.
Outfielders must remain in the grass (or at least10 feet behind the bases) until the ball is hit or a play is made on a base path. No more than 9 (nine) players may play defense at one time.
