There are identified risk factors associated with IVIG induced aseptic meningitis. High rate of infusion is most common. Other factors include include high dose of immunoglobulin being infused, patient not well hydrated and a previous history of migraine.

Secondly, no other cause of meningitis could be found even after extensive investigations and finally, there was spontaneous improvement of symptoms within few days.
