13 Μαΐ 2024 · An acute aseptic meningitis has been occasionally observed on intravenous polyclonal human immunoglobulin therapy. Since case reports cannot be employed to draw inferences about the relationships between immunoglobulin therapy and meningitis, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature.
There are identified risk factors associated with IVIG induced aseptic meningitis. High rate of infusion is most common. Other factors include include high dose of immunoglobulin being infused, patient not well hydrated and a previous history of migraine.
IVIG-associated transient aseptic meningitis is one such rare adverse effect, which has been seldomly described in the literature. We report a case of aseptic meningitis due to IVIG therapy in a Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) patient.

17 Ιουλ 2018 · IVIG is a rare but clinically relevant cause of aseptic meningitis that is often under recognized. Unlike infectious meningitis, it is self-limited and treatment is supportive. This case report highlights the importance of this diagnosis in order to avoid unnecessary procedures and therapies.
1 Ιουν 2023 · Aseptic meningitis is a rare but potentially serious complication of intravenous immunoglobulin treatment. In this case series, meningitic symptoms following intravenous immunoglobulin initiation in patients with multisystem inflammatory syndrome were rare (7/2,086 [0.3%]).
