21 Ιουν 2022 · Aseptic meningitis, an uncommon but significant adverse reaction of IVIG therapy, can prove a diagnostic obstacle. As of April 2022, forty-four cases of intravenous immunoglobulin-induced aseptic meningitis have been reported in the English-language literature.

26 Φεβ 2024 · Drug-induced aseptic meningitis is most commonly associated with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antibiotics (sulfamides, penicillins), intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), and monoclonal antibodies. Neoplastic meningitis is linked to either metastasis from solid cancers or lymphoma/leukemia.
29 Οκτ 2014 · First, there was a strong temporal relationship between onset of symptoms suggestive of aseptic meningitis and high-dose IVIG therapy. Secondly, no other cause of meningitis could be found even after extensive investigations and finally, there was spontaneous improvement of symptoms within few days.
There are identified risk factors associated with IVIG induced aseptic meningitis. High rate of infusion is most common. Other factors include include high dose of immunoglobulin being infused, patient not well hydrated and a previous history of migraine.

Nine reports were case series or pharmacovigilance studies addressing the issue of meningitis associated with polyclonal immunoglobulin therapy.
