Ash actually does appear in the anime, and it's shown that his weapon is a cane (name unknown), having the ability to split the ground with one hit. This may be a shikomizue (a cane with a sword inside). Another notable detail is that Ash has an "X-shaped" scar between his eyebrows, which is covered by his bandana.

To discover the whereabouts of their father, the artist Michael Heintz, who has disappeared, Hitomi and her sisters rob art galleries as the smart and mysterious thief "Cat's Eye" in the hope that his works can give them clues about his vanishing.

Cat's Eye (Japanese: キャッツ♥アイ, Hepburn: Kyattsu Ai, stylized as CAT'S♥EYE) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1981 to 1985, with its chapters collected into 18 tankōbon.
