When to Apply. The 2020 Standards for Certification in Audiology are now in effect. An applicant for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) applies under the standards that are in effect at the time their application is received by ASHA.

Clinical Specialty Certification enables an audiologist or a speech-language pathologist with advanced knowledge, skills, and experience beyond the Certificate of Clinical Competence to be formally identified as a Board Certified Specialist (BCS) in a specific area of clinical practice.
The American Board of Audiology Certified credential recognizes those professionals who demonstrate the knowledge and commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in audiology.
