Find the shortcut for the computer game you want to play in windowed mode instead of full screen. Right click on the shortcut, select Properties. In the Target field add: -window at the end.

16 Δεκ 2014 · According to the PC Gaming Wiki article [pcgamingwiki.com], you could try forcing the application into fullscreen by adding the -fullscreen command line argument in the Steam launch options (or alternatively you could do this in the Windows application shortcut properties dialog).
I figured out a solution after messing around with the display settings. For anyone else having this problem all you need to do is go to your search bar, type in “Change Resolution of the display”, go to display resolution and set it to 1280 x 720. Boom full screen mode!
I installed dxwnd (google it) which is a program that lets you run direct x games in window mode (and has a lot of custom settings you can use for size, etc, if you want). Once you install this, you run dxwnd.exe, then right click the blank area, select "add", then go find the ac2 exe file, which for me was: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft ...
I installed all my AC games on Steam, and they're all full-screen with no windowed option in the 'Graphics' menus. I'd like them to be windowed so I can easily access and open other apps without having to alt + tab all the time, which really messes with some of the games.
