Some medicines can interact with atenolol. Always check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving your child any other medicines, including herbal or complementary medicines. The following medicines are known to react with atenolol. • Other medicines that slow the heart rate such as digoxin, verapamil and diltiazem.
Atenolol is used in the treatment of hypertension, stable angina, and used to lower the chance of death aer heart aack/MI. Can be taken with or without food and usually taken 1-2 mes daily.
• Your child may feel sick or be sick (vomit) when they first start taking atenolol. Giving the medicine with some food may help. If this is still a problem after a week, contact your doctor for advice. • Your child may feel physically tired and they may have difficulty getting to sleep or nightmares.
