23 Μαΐ 2024 · NOAA’s outlook for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, which spans from June 1 to November 30, predicts an 85% chance of an above-normal season, a 10% chance of a near-normal season and a 5% chance of a below-normal season.
8 Αυγ 2024 · The 2024 North Atlantic hurricane season is predicted to produce (with 70% probability for each range) 17-24 named storms, of which 8-13 are expected to become hurricanes, and 4-7 of those are expected to become major hurricanes.
The probability of U.S. and Caribbean major hurricane landfall is estimated to be well above its long-period average. We predict Atlantic basin Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) and Net Tropical Cyclone (NTC) activity in 2024 to be approximately 170 percent of their long-term averages.
