You can park at the visitor parking spaces next to 1 Tenth street (the big office building next to the Marriott.) The spots are labeled two hour visitor and lots of people use those spots to go to the riverwalk entrance at 10th street.
Affordable public parking and walkability make exploring downtown easy. From March through November, the Augusta Market brings local and regional tastemakers and artisans of all kinds to the 8th Street entrance to the Riverwalk. Broad Street runs smack-dab through the center of downtown Augusta and it’s a pleasant path to stroll.
No-there is a nearby parking garage that has a fee, but there are also spots nearby that are free. The city is looking at installing parking meters on Broad St., but that has not happened yet.
Between 6th And 10th Sts. Mulitlevel walkways lead beside the Savannah River to museums, parks and gardens. Features include Jessye Norman Amphitheater, playground, fountains, picnic areas and Heroes Overlook Memorial. Historical markers relate Augusta's cultural and natural history.
If you'd like to walk the trail in a more natural setting, or jog, or hike, Google "Augusta Canal Trail". You can park your bikes at various places along the trail, which is a continuation of Riverwalk. You will need to bike to the parking areas.
