The Global Health Data Exchange compiled the autism rates for all countries worldwide for people of any age. The countries with the lowest autism rates were developed countries in Europe . France had the lowest autism rates of 69.3 per 10,000 people or 1 in 144 people.

Here, we used the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study data to address this gap, focusing on changes in prevalence, incidence, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of ASD across the world. From 1990 to 2019, overall age-standardized estimates remained stable globally.
