WeaponSwingTimer is an addon for WoW Classic that tracks your's and your target's swing timers. If you're a hunter, it tracks Auto Shot timing and castable shots cast time. If you use a wand, it also tracks when your shots will go off.

Yes, can't start auto-attack upon being hit. This promoted people going afk/botting. BUT, you can just right click your target and it will auto-attack. If you can't use your ability, you'll still be auto-attacking. It has always been this way.
