These cars are designed to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in the European Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. LMP2 cars are developed for racing only and comply with FIA rules.

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the track is shared by three categories: Hypercar, LMP2, and LMGT3. Hypercar: These are prototypes and production-based cars, either hybrid or non-hybrid, with a closed cockpit. They develop up to 680 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
