Wire the slime statue to the 3 sec timer and the dart trap to the 1 sec timer then connect both wires to the lever.
What you need to acquire first is; Frog Leg, Reinforced Fishing Pole, 35%^ Bait, Slime Statue, Bucket of lava (one), Pressure plate (optional but it helps finding traps), Dangersense potion (again optional but it helps find traps).
It can be fully automated too - you can ride a cart from bumper to bumper, passing over pressure plates to activate slimes from the statue (assuming you're on PC). Do note however that only 3 statues can be generated from one statue at a time - to generate more you'd have to kill those generated.
A AFK slime farm without the tricky to find (sometimes) slime statue. It works to the simple minded ai of slimes and spiked ball traps and additionally summons with the possible add on for enemies that can swim right in. I was just about to make a post and ask if the slime staff was still obtainable through statues.
