19 Σεπ 2010 · It's a simple repair. Remove the 1 screw holding the rotor. Manually manipulate the reversing wheel until it engages in the slot. With fine tweezers remove any debris. Try winding without the rotor fitted. If all good replace the rotor and reassemble.

automatic watches work by a rotor turning to wind the mainspring, but that does not mean that to wind the main spring it should be done via the rotor. if you were to only able to wind a watch by shaking it, it will likely break over time
I have a Glycine Combat Sub GL0083 that's been working fine until yesterday. When I tried to manually wind the watch via the crown, it wound normally for 2-3 turns and then became more resistant and I could feel the rotor turn with each wind of the crown from then on.
But, that's not the normal state of an automatic watch, or at least shouldn't be. If you either wind it fully to start with, or wear it for a few hours, it'll stabilize around the top 25% or so of power storage, and that will calm the rotor motion, and noise, significantly.
