26 Σεπ 2021 · Clarification on Winterization. That raptors are closed loop cooling system so you only need to check the engine coolant is ok for the coldest temps you will see during winter. No need to warm engine to open thermostat. Engine coolant should be changed every 2 seasons. Raw water cooling loop.
I am about to run my XLV GG in salt water and I am told a flush kit is sufficient and some say no way I need a Closed cooling system or even both. What do I do? If I flush her every time she is used and trailer her out to flush the exhaust every week or two will this be enough??

6 Ιαν 2017 · Your boat has an internal closed loop cooling system for the motor, but that boat should use raw water pumped in to cool the exhaust manifolds. That should be flushed after each use. There are topics on how people use something called a 'fake-a'-lake' ($20-$40) for flushing the boat.
21 Φεβ 2017 · A couple of products I’ve used are Seaflush and Forté cooling system flush. Before you flush, be sure to remove the sacrificial anode(s) screwed into your heat exchanger, and replace the anodes with new ones after the flushing.
1 Οκτ 2010 · If you are going to keep using your boat year round, then learn to drain it between uses. On a 3.0L engine, it's a 10 minute job once you get used to what you need to drain. Forget using muffs and antifreeze on a raw water cooled engine, or the 1 or 2 times a year could cost you an engine.
