I went to Avent Ferry back during orientation in July. Housing gave me little option between either AFC or E.S King apartments. I went with AFC because it seemed a least like a better area and better rooms. Though, the more I read about AFC, the more I'm concerned.
I lived in Avent Ferry my 4.5 years at NC State, at first I hated it, but then I started to love it: much larger rooms, only have to share my bathroom with my roommate, shopping center right across the street and not far from Centennial.
Avent Ferry is a pretty long road with a lot of different types of neighborhoods. I’ve lived in Raleigh for a little over 16 years and have never seen or heard of many issues there. In short, you’re friend probably just had a bad personal experience but to call that entire area “dangerous” is absolute nonsense.
Opinions on the Avent Ferry Complex? Haven't had the chance to check them out in person but I'll be in one of the units next semester. I've heard a full spectrum of glowing reviews to absolutely hatred of this dorm. Any insight is appreciated.
