As of December 31, 2020, the number of prisoners under the jurisdiction of the State of Florida correctional authorities was 81,027 located in 143 state prisons and held in custody of private prisons or local jails.
27 Δεκ 2023 · Florida State Prison (FSP) houses male inmates of minimum, medium, and close custody levels. The facility grades are medical (M) grades 1, 2, and 3, and psychology (S) grades 1, 2, and 3. FSP consists of a Main Unit and West Unit which is currently closed.1.
Key findings from the data include: The states of Montana and Utah share the highest average height, with residents standing at an impressive 5'7.7". The heights across different states show a relatively close range with the top 25 states in the list all recording average heights above 5'7".
On average, male state prisoners (16 years) were serving longer sentences than female state prisoners. (10 years) in 2016. State prisoners in 2016 averaged 10.5 years of education prior to admission, and almost two-thirds (62%) had not completed high school.
Florida has the third largest prison population in the US with over 87,000 in state prison. Thousands more are incarcerated in Florida jails. Florida’s incarceration rate of 662 inmates per 100,000 adult residents is substantially higher than the national average of 537.
