In this post we provide a list of some average sitting heights and dimensions for British males and females. If you are practising in the UK, knowing these measurements may help enhance your overall design process.
Average Dimensions / Heights for Male and Female Adults. The average dimensions mentioned in this post are based on data for the 50th percentile of British adults. They also include allowances for both clothes and shoes. MALE: Reach Upwards: 2120mm. Head Height: 1740mm. Eye level height: 1635mm. Shoulder height: 1430mm. Elbow height: 1090mm.

In height allowances it is prudent to allow about 25mm for male shoes and about 45mm for female shoes. Important Note: The numbers I present in the table below are not directly obtained from any source.
