I have read terrible reviews for both Budget and Avis car rental at the airport. The most disturbing reviews discuss defective cars. I have reservations for both Budget and Avis in a couple weeks, dropping off at SLC. I need to choose one. Can anyone share experiences or recommendations for either? Thanks!

Denver's airport is a behemoth & I think it took us about an hour to get to the Avis lot after landing & getting our checked bags. Of course this is not in Avis' control but something to be considered.
There are so many scary car rental experiences posted here. I wanted to say we had a good experience with Avis at the airport. We went through priceline. Maybe more expensive than the cheap alternatives, but great checkin, car and return experience.

Rental cars are about a 10-15 minute shuttle. Just go out either side of the terminal to the rental car shuttle island. Both Hertz and Avis are fine. Personally, I prefer Avis. Have fun.
"Warning: Avis Car Rental at Denver Airport! We waited 25 minutes for the bus, 45 minutes to get to the desk, and 2 HOURS for our reserved car - which was the WRONG one! Preferential treatment for red carpet members left over 50 people waiting.
