In June, the Arizona State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers joined our agency and we have since launched the new Funeral Services Licensing section to support the oversight role, which includes licensing and regulation. The public can find information, search licenses, and submit complaints on the ADHS Funeral Services Licensing site.

In order to become a licensed funeral director in Arizona, you must meet the following qualifications: Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Be a graduate of an accredited or provisionally accredited school of mortuary science. Pass the funeral service arts section of the national board examination or the state equivalent examination.
