Dogs: 5 – 10 milligrams per kilogram of body weight by mouth every 24 hours. Cats : 5 – 10 milligrams per kilogram by mouth every 24 hours. Horses : 10 milligrams per kilogram by mouth every 24 hours.

Azithromycin has been used successfully in dogs to treat Babesia Gibsoni (Asian genotype).
For example, it may be dosed at 15 mg/kg twice daily for 7 days in dogs with a coccidiosis infection or dosed at 5 mg/kg once daily for dogs with a Giardia infection. While there is a substantial variation in dosages, the usual dosage in dogs is 2.5 to 5 mg per pound (5 to 10 mg/kg) orally once daily for up to 7 days.
