According to this website, 92% of ratings is 1 star, and looking through the reviews, the two words "self esteem" appears all over the place, and since these are one star reviews, these are most likely due to LOSING it.
6 Δεκ 2021 · A seemingly simple 30 minutes of IXL has become torture for children everywhere where IXL can be accessed (see kids reviews). IXL has caused disruption in sleep schedules and the ridiculous and sometimes multi-stage workloads seem torturous to overcome for any and all that are required to complete them.
Teachers are not properly trained in how to use IXL. If the teacher doesn't have a rule that after three wrong you can use the "drop down a level" feature, it is a clear indication that the school most likely gave the teachers zero PD in IXL.

IXL is a program commonly used in public schools, and my public-schooled kids hate it. The teacher/parent sets a points/percentage goal for the student to reach. Missing just a single question, from what I am told, sets the student back so far it's almost impossible to get back where you need to be.
Why Is IXL Bad? IXL is bad because of its SmartScore. It says, "IXL's SmartScore is a dynamic measure of progress towards mastery, rather than a percentage grade. It tracks your skill level as you tackle progressively more difficult questions.
