11 Νοε 2016 · Kit Building - New Balsa USA Smoothie XL Build - Looks great. I just finished gluing up the fuselage plywood framing. I'll get the balsa sides on later tonight and then get cracking on getting the fuselage bulkheads (formers) in place tomorrow.
28 Νοε 2017 · Kit Building - Balsa USA Smoothie XL Build - GREAT Thread. I've read the complete story of your awesome build. A question comes to me as far as the CG. I'm planning this build with a DA-35 up front, with a Pitts style muffler. You mentioned possibly being nose heavy.
29 Οκτ 2016 · The new rendition of Balsa USA's Smoothie caught my eye and I was hooked. Bought the kit from a fellow RCU member and then bought all the accessories. It will be powered by a Syssa 30 cc gas engine. has 5 in Dave Brown P 51 spinner.
I finally got to open my Christmas present and get to start my BUSA Smoothie build http://shop.balsausa.com/product_p/443.htm. The Manual they give you in the new kit is first class and better than the 2 pages of instructions included with the original.
27 Ιαν 2024 · Balsa USA Smoothie Build. I finished my first build, a Balsa USA Smoothie, 52” wing span. The wings are fully symmetrical with 1” of dihedral. It came out at 4.5 lbs with a 4S 3200 battery. It pulls 600 watts at 40 amps with a 13x8 APC prop.
