The Banax Si1300 retails for around $149-00 and "looks" like a reel from the 70 or 80's, I'd be more inclined to look at a Shimano or Okuma and your mate would have a better reel in my opinion plus a spool of Fireline for the same price.
1 Ιουν 2021 · After burning up several Diawas, I decided to try the Banax reels and have been impressed. Three seasons so far and still running strong. From a mechanical perspective, they're head and shoulders above the Diawas in bearing strength, motor power and cooling, and drag stack.

8 Σεπ 2013 · I purchased for $450 a Banax Kaigen 1000 reel as a lighter alternative to the Miya Epoch. This reel has been talked about a little but never heard any real world experience. Well here it is. Deep dropped about 30 straight hours over 2 days (first 30 hours on the reel) bringing up tiles and small-medium deepwater grouper.
