A look back at the catastrophic and record breaking flood across South Central Texas.
On the weekend of October 17 to 18, 1998, a pair of hurricanes over the Eastern Pacific and a near stationary cold front led to disastrous flash flooding along the Guadalupe River and over the San Antonio metro area.
The rainfall caused widespread flash flooding across the urban area of San Antonio and the city of Austin. Heavy rains continued for the entire day of October 18, 1998, and eventually tapered off and moved away to the coast and soon offshore.
