New Mexico Barbary Sheep Hunts. Join Triple C Outfitters for some of New Mexico's finest free range Barbary sheep hunting. Barbary sheep, also called Aoudad, are native to North Africa. As a result, they have adapted to survive in dry, rough, barren, and water scarce habitats.
Barbary sheep, also known as aoudad, are almost extinct in much of their native range in north Africa, but thrive in parts of New Mexico, where they were introduced in the 1940s. Hunting barbary sheep is challenging and rewarding as they blend into their surroundings well.
K9 Country Outfitters offers Barbary Sheep hunts, also known as Aoudad hunts in New Mexico. Hunts are guided off National Forest over the Counter tags. These hunts are 5 day guided hunts using the spot and stalk method, so it is important that you are prepared to walk.
