Hunting consists of Mule deer, Barbary sheep, Oryx, Quail, Dove, and the normal varmints associated with SE New Mexico ranches. This ranch is diverse in many ways and provide a great opportunity to operate a high desert ranch with majestic views.
The ranch is home to elk, Barbary sheep, mule deer, antelope, black bear, mountain lion, bobcats, ringtail cats and Merriam turkey. The hunting for these game species is as good as can be found in this part of New Mexico.
On the ranch there are excellent barbary sheep (aoudad), big mule deer, turkey, dove and quail. Improvements consist of an older home and pens, exterior and interior fences, five domestic/livestock water wells. Property comes down to the Hondo River giving access to live water.
In addition to the above-mentioned species, Barbary Sheep, aka Aoudad, venture onto the eastern portion of the ranch from time to time. Regional Notes Lincoln County, New Mexico has a rich history of large cattle operations.
The ranch supports a good population of elk, mule deer, barbary sheep, and turkey. It is common to view abundant wildlife feeding and watering on the property. The ranch can be enrolled in the E Plus program with the NM Department of Game and Fish in order to hunt elk.
Game species include Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Bobcat, Barbary Sheep, Turkey and Water Fowl. The L Bar Ranch is located in New Mexico Big Game Unit 9. The ranch is enrolled in the E Plus system with NM Game and Fish for elk hunting.
Additionally, over-the-counter licenses are available for Mule deer, turkey, black bear, and Barbary sheep. The abundant wildlife in this sought-after secondary zone makes Cliffside Ranch an exceptional hunting location.
