For your first four years, you'll have guaranteed employment, typically from May 1st to August 31st with some wiggle room on both sides. The first year is typically for basic training (3 weeks at HMCS Donnacona and 5 week at CFB Valcartier).

Following an accelerated enrollment, eight week basic military training and four week naval training, you will join the Navy fleet on either the East or West coast. Over the course of several months, you will learn the ropes of being a sailor by shadowing a variety of jobs and gaining exposure to a number of skills.
The BMQ is the CAF basic training program for future non-commissioned members. The course is 8 weeks long and provides the core skills and common military knowledge required to succeed in a military
