28 Δεκ 2022 · It would be a good introduction to critical thinking, inductive logic, and the basics of deductive logic. It covers the basics of arguments, logical fallacies, Aristotelian logic, sentential logic, and inductive logic using analogies, causal claims, and statistics.
1. WHAT IS LOGIC? Logic may be defined as the science of reasoning. However, this is not to suggest that logic is an empirical (i.e., experimental or observational) science like physics, biology, or psychology. Rather, logic is a non-empirical science like mathematics. Also, in saying that logic is the science of reasoning, we do not mean
undergraduate courses on mathematical logic. And serious logic is taught less and less in philosophy departments too. Yet logic itself remains as exciting and rewarding a subject as it ever was. So how is knowledge to be passed on if there are not enough courses, or if there are none at all?
