Bass guitar overtones continue all the way up to around 4000Hz (4kHz) to 5000Hz (5kHz). Table of Bass Frequencies. Here's an easy way you can remember the basic frequency range of the bass: 40Hz-400Hz-4000Hz. The fundamentals range from about 40 to 400 Hertz; the harmonics go all the way to 4000Hz. Simple! Why do you need to memorize that?

12 Νοε 2009 · Many bass amps have a built-in notch around 400-500 Hz, e.g. the classic "Fender tone stack", where the best approximation to "flat" is 1 bass - 10 mid - 1 treble. This is a range where other instruments (and voice) dominate, so you don't need or want a whole lot of it to fit in the mix.
16 Δεκ 2014 · What I'd like to see is a practical audio power spectrum for bass guitar from 40-8000 Hz. On the low side most production bass cabs don't have much useable output below 40 Hz. On the high side, the highest fundamental for a G string is around 500 Hz and there is negligible power past the 4th overtone at 8000 Hz.
12 Δεκ 2019 · A General Starting Point – When EQing bass with a bass roll off, I recommend setting the main frequency around 50 Hz with a steep enough Q that you gradually but quickly reduce the volumes the closer you get to 20 Hz. This will allow some sub-bass but ensure you aren’t rattling speakers.
For this, I`ve made a graph that compares the frequency range of the 4, 5, and 6-string bass against the guitar. Lastly, we will take a look at how to change the range of a bass, and how low it can be tuned.
In summary, to EQ a bass guitar, you have to: Get rid of the ultra-low-end frequencies below 40 Hz that muddy up your bass sound using a high pass filter. Enhance the bass’s fundamental frequencies from 40-400 Hz. Add or remove growl/punchiness by adjusting the mid-range frequencies between 500-1kHz.
