  3. To locate your deed, click on the county name of the registry where the property is located. The "Search Criteria" in the banner at the top of the page will give you options for searching, including name, address, or book and page.

  4. As of January 1, 2008, all documents presented for recording must meet the following requirements: Document must be signed with an original signature and notarized if required. Signers’ and notaries’ names must be printed under the signature. Notary expiration date is required.

  5. There are two separate registrars: the Northern Essex Registry of Deeds and the Southern Essex Registry of Deeds. To determine which office you need, find the property’s city/town on the Secretary of Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registry page .
