This new Alternator bracket is designed to replace a damaged or missing bracket for 96-01 Explorer and Mountaineers with the small block 5.0 engine. We wanted to make a Bracket that would match the new power steering bracket we use in our short dress serpentine kit in appearance, while making it better for conversions.

13 Αυγ 2014 · BC has solved many of these issues with existing a/c and the Explorer Serp. Conversion. Also Vintage can sell you extra long hoses with the right connectors. Then you cut hoses to the right length and have a local hydraulic shop (sometimes Napa) crimp the fittings on.
This bracket mounts to our 48-14051 power steering bracket, allowing you to mount the Sanden mini compressor (not a 508) on your engine when using short dress serpentine kits like the Explorer serpentine.

Two different A/C brackets are available so you can choose to run a Sanden SD7 compressor for air conditioning or a York compressor for onboard air. The reservoir shown on the pump to the right is the style of reservoir that you need to use with this bracket.
Locate and mount the new ac/heater/defroster controls as desired. Disconnect and remove the flexible fresh air duct from the passenger kick panel and the heater/fresh air box. Remove the 4 nuts on the passenger side fire wall that attached the heater/fresh air box to the fire wall. See Figure 1.
