The Assessor's Office is open for walk-in requests, and appointments are encouraged to reduce wait time. Appointments may be made by calling 360-778-5050 or emailing assessor@co.whatcom.wa.us. Remote options are available for completing most transactions.

The assessor (or the Iowa Department of Revenue for centrally assessed property) determines the assessed value of each property. The assessed value is to be at actual or market value for most property. Assessed values for each property classification are reported to the county auditor. The Department examines total assessed values.
