  1. Yes, you need drawing software. I use Krita, which is one of the top free programs. Occasionally I check out videos/blogs of people rating different programs, but I haven't been convinced to change yet, except to perhaps Clip Studio Paint, which is not free. However, there are some random things that Krita is bad at, like dealing with text.

  7. I'm looking at an Acepen drawing tablet for about 50 dollars. I have a decently specced computer but I'm not sure what programs to use the tablet with. How would you rate Krita's usability? Are there any open source free use programs you would recommend to someone with limited experience?
