3 Οκτ 2024 · Modern Horizons 2 was the best set from 2021 and MH2 is my easy pick for what you should buy if you have to pick one set to rule them all. It’s exciting to draft, there’s good money to be opened, and many of the cards will retain their value for a very long time thanks to their strength in Modern.
I've got a couple of young kids I'd like to teach MTG. Back in the day, Portal was a good set for kids due to its simple card text. Is there a good, simple set like that available nowadays?

Sets, I really recommend due to child friendly setting (if i remember correctly) are Dominaria (Knights and stuff), Throne of Eldraine (Fairytales), Ikoria (Monsters) and depending on your children Ixalan (dinosaurs are probably cool but vampires maby frightening.
Recently i've aquired a gigantic bulk of cards from a good friend of mine, and i am looking into using these to teach kids at a public school in my town. The bulk contains mostly cards from amonkhet (a fair few of them) through ravnica allegiance, but mostly only commons from those sets.
We got lots of children on cards recently, all gorgeous artworks. How cool would it be to give my opponents a solid beating with a bunch of kids? Now I'm looking for cards to include in my casual kitchen table Power to the Children-Deck.
I've selected illustrations that are kid-friendly, creatures that are able to trade with each other, and also creatures that block each other out. Note that there's two cards per deck (mostly 6 mana cards) that feel stronger and are visually appealing to the kids, so that they're happy to get them and play them.
