If you're looking for a vanilla ROM to nuzlocke, I'd recommend either Fire Red or Emerald. Both are fairly forgiving. I also found Black 2 to be easy, but I think I just got lucky. If you're looking for a Romhack, Pokemon Unbound and Pokemon Gaia are both great.

Renegade Platinum by Drayano for sure, I’m definitely gonna nuzlocke Blaze Black 2/Volt White 2 Redux once it drops on Saturday as well.
Easiest hacks to hardcore nuzlocke and best entries into romhacks: Emerald Trashlocke - vanilla emerald but only bad pokemon. Teaches you a lot about synergy between pokemon most other people wouldn’t use. Earlygame is pretty great, post-Norman it’s a bit unbalanced. FireRed Omega - Drayano’s first romhack.
Trashlockes are a subset of Nuzlockes in which players are limited to using weaker Pokémon. A brilliant ROM hack, Pokémon Emerald Trashlocke Edition changes the game such that you encounter only “bad” Pokémon.
