If you can complete the Hard Karamja Diary you get access to the underground gem mine at Shilo Village. Wearing a Glory makes mining gems incredibly fast, and there's a bank deposit box right next to the first rock. XP rates are reasonable compared to other methods, it's decent money, and fastest way to get a pet on average.
The rock golem is a members-only skilling pet that can be obtained while training Mining. The chances of getting it are dependent on the player's Mining level, and the time it takes to gather a resource. When a player receives the pet, it will automatically try to appear as their follower.
Mining gem rocks is a profitable alternative that offers comparable experience rates to granite when using tick manipulation. Gem rocks are also the fastest method on average to obtain the rock golem pet. Without tick manipulation, this method is considerably slower and only recommended for ironmen who need opals, jades, or red topazes.
Rock Golem Skill Pet drop rate! Current spreadsheet with average hours per method still need a lot of help editing this! Holy shit. I got the golem after about 1300 paydirt at 78 mining and I never really appreciated how rare it was. It's a shame your level has so little effect on you getting a pet.
