Three are Horde, three are Alliance, and two are neutral. Children's Week has 14 pets to collect along with toys and achievements.
Tbc.wowhead.com shows all the quests in every zone including their rewards. Oh man setup a seventy upgrades character and then filter upgrades to quests etc. It's how I did it and it was awesome! Simply use the filter "Rewarded by a quest in..." when viewing items on wowhead. Example: https://tbc.wowhead.com/items?filter=126;3523;0.

But with the upcoming addition of account-wide pets in MoP, you have the opportunity to do the Children's Week quests on alts this year, select different pets on each character, and have all the pets consolidated onto your main pet-collector once the expansion rolls out.
