We see Him overruling the sorrow of former days to bring about a greater blessing. We see Him leading this daughter of a Gentile race and making her a partner in the hopes of His people.
Ruth is divided into four parts. Chapter 1 introduces Naomi and Ruth in the midst of catastrophe. Chapter 2 details Ruth and Boaz meeting. Chapter 3 follows Naomi’s plan for Ruth to marry Boaz. Chapter 4 concludes with a marriage and the birth of a son.
2. Ruth happens upon Boaz’s field. So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.” Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers.
