Anna Bates was a giantess, famous for her impressive stature and for her marriage to the giant Martin van Buren Bates, who towered at 8 feet tall. The birth of their son promptly broke the Guinness World Record for heaviest birth. Sadly, their son passed away 11 hours later.

The baby, who was not officially named but just referred to as "Babe", sadly died just 11 hours later.
Although insufficiently documented, it was reported that the heaviest baby born to a healthy mother was a boy weighing 10.2 kg (22 lb 8 oz) who was born to Sig. Carmelina Fedele (Italy) at Aversa, Italy in September 1955.
He was the largest newborn ever recorded, at 22 pounds (10.0 kg) and 28 inches tall (c. 72 cm); each of his feet was six inches (150 mm) long. He was posthumously awarded a Guinness World Record as the heaviest new-born baby and the longest.
18 Ιουλ 2023 · On 19 January 1879, Anna, who stood at 7 ft 11 in (241.3 cm) gave birth to a baby boy who lived for just 11 hours. Despite his short life, the child, referred to as “Babe”, broke two records that still stand today. Babe was both the longest baby and the heaviest birth documented in all of history.
16 Μαΐ 2024 · Chesner was born in 2007 in Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, to Cathleen Abels. The baby girl weighed 16 pounds and 9 ounces (7.66kg) at the time of her birth. She is said to be the biggest baby ever delivered at the hospital where she was born.
