Coral reefs lay the foundation of a dynamic ecosystem with tremendous biodiversity. Florida's Coral Reef stretches approximately 350 linear miles from Dry Tortugas National Park west of the Florida Keys to the St. Lucie Inlet in Martin County.
From colorful corals to nesting sea turtles, Florida’s marine wildlife is at great risk. Warming waters and excessive nutrient runoff are damaging our coral reefs, manatees face increased boat strikes and coastal development is having negative effects on the already threatened sea turtle population.
