27 Νοε 2018 · The term biome was born in 1916 in the opening address at the first meeting of the Ecological Society of America, given by Frederick Clements (1916b). In 1917, an abstract of this talk was published in the Journal of Ecology. Here Clements introduced his ‘biome’ as a synonym to ‘biotic community’.
