If this were an environment that the User could choose to launch, it would indeed be a replacement for the rescue CD. My confidence in bitdefender is not sufficient to rely on this feature only being exposed if an infection has been detected. C:\Program Files\Bitdefender Antivirus Free. AND it still has the following folders dated 2018 files from my previous installation: C:\Bitdefender C:\Program Files\Bitdefender. I uninstalled the old Bitdefender Free in Control Panel before installing the new one but apparently it did not clean up the old files properly.

I only wanted the new free version for friend to replace the last "free" version that was discontinued but I wound up with a trial of "Bitdefender Total Security." Does "Bitdefender Total Security" convert to "Bitdefender Antivirus Free" at end of 30 day trial?
20 Οκτ 2020 · I have the Bitdefender Free edition (no idea what year, I can't find that info anywhere). When I attempt to uninstall through add/remove programs, it hangs. When I try using the Bitdefender removal tool, it tells me that it completed with errors and I must contact support to complete the removal. How in the world can I completely remove it?
