2 Ιουν 2018 · Black Ice is working on a new headphone Dac/Amp that I think is going to be a hit when released. It will have some features for tailoring the sound to your liking. I am somewhat old school and miss bass treble adjustments, I believe that will be implemented.
2 Σεπ 2020 · The Black Ice Glass FX Tube DAC DSD Wi-Fi is one of the very few DACs that I’ve found that has sufficient purity and transparency to be run without the benefit of an active preamplifier.
30 Δεκ 2021 · Spent some time searching for any info, experience or reviews on the forum here on the "Black Ice Glass FX DSD Wifi DAC", but hadn't found anything. Wondered if anyone has experience with it, it's various modes (Wifi, USB,Toslink), and if anyone has done some testing and measurements on it?
30 Οκτ 2023 · I discovered the Black Ice unit, and was struck by just how little info or reviews there were for it. What little that was out there was for the most part positive. It also appears that the unit is essentially their headphone amp repurposed as a DAC (correct me if I'm wrong here).
14 Μαρ 2020 · I bought the Black Ice Audio FX DSD WiFi DAC a few weeks back. I ordered a pair of NOS JAN GE 12AX7WA tubes at the same time, and I swapped them for the stock tubes before I powered it up. So my reference is with the JAN GE tubes in place, having never heard the stock ones yet.
A DAC is a Digital to Analog Converter. Meaning, it converts the digital audio from the PC to an analog signal that can be used by the (headphone) amplifier. So a DAC is not about the output power, just about that conversion.
