Jim Fosgate uses an upgrade to the classic Cascode circuit design (high gain, moderately high input impedance, high output impedance, and high bandwidth) and adds a mosfet which gives the musical performance of tubes but with the speed and detail of current solid state designs.
10 Μαρ 2022 · SEE BELOW FOR MY “WAY TOO EARLY” IMPRESSIONS. I just took a bit of a leap of faith and ordered the Black Ice (formally Jolida) F360 tube buffered active preamp. One of the big selling points for me is that it incorporates the “Foz SSX Sound Expander” capability. This was designed by Bob Fosgate.
5 Απρ 2021 · Does anybody out there have any experience with the Black Ice Audio F360 preamplifier? I see that Black Ice has some affiliation with Jolida, and I have heard favorable things about Jolida, but information on the F360 is relatively scant online.

10 Μαρ 2022 · I just bought a pair of Black Ice Audio F100's and have on loan an F360. While I have no plans to replace it with my venerable and recently factory overhauled Balanced Audio Technology (BAT) VK50-SE. It's still lots of fun to use for the price.
The all tube Black Ice Audio F360 Version II preamplifier uses one 6SN7 dual triode tube with zero negative feedback for inexpensive tube rolling that can easily be voiced to any amplifier; tube or solid state.
23 Φεβ 2024 · The FX 10H powered a pair of MoFi Electronics SourcePoint 10 speakers ($3699/pair). The F360 V2 preamp also fed the new Fusion 85A integrated amplifier (which, at $7999, costs ten times what the FX 10H costs), a show debut.
