With stunning views of the wild Atlantic coast and islands at the halfway point of the Slea Head Drive, the Blasket Centre is a fascinating heritage and cultural centre/ museum, honouring the unique community who lived on the remote Blasket Islands until their evacuation in 1953.
The complete upgrade of the Centre in 2022, with its totally renewed and interactive exhibitions, provides an imaginative and authentic re-telling of the story of the Blasket islands, their rich heritage and unique literature.

27 Μαΐ 2018 · Seascape at the Great Blasket Island. I decided not to go in the center but just stay outside and have a look at the scenery. There wasn’t a clear path here and I ended up walking on the grass. I guess if you decided to visit the center you go through the museum and eventually end up outside like me.
