22 Ιαν 2023 · The blinded condition in D&D 5e refers to a state where the character or monster can’t see what’s around them. Whether temporary or permanent, the creature is thrust into pitch-black vision and has to rely on other senses to interact with the world around them.
If you are blind, you have the following features: You can't see and automatically fail any ability check that requires sight. You can’t use darkvision if you would normally have darkvision. You are immune to the blinded condition. Ranged attack rolls against you have advantage, and your ranged weapon attack rolls have disadvantage.

When a creature is blinded, they are affected in two ways: A blinded creature can’t see, and fails any ability check that requires sight. Attack rolls against a blinded creature grant advantage, while the blinded creature’s attack rolls are made with disadvantage.
