For many patients studied, the assessment of renal and liver function at every cycle was unjustified.
21 Μαΐ 2024 · Blood tests. Chemotherapy drugs can stop your bone marrow producing enough of these blood cells: red blood cells (RBC) white blood cells (WBC) platelets. So before treatment starts you need to have a blood test to check your levels of these. If your RBC is too low, you may need a blood transfusion.
The amount of time needed for treatment is different for each person. Your doctor or pharmacist will tell you how long your chemotherapy will be given. Please allow extra time at the clinic. Your blood counts need to be checked before you receive chemotherapy. If these are OK, there is a wait time while the chemo is mixed.

They will be looking very closely at your white blood count, red blood count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelet, neutrophil, and lymphocyte counts. They will also check your liver and kidney function.
Below is the schedule, your cycle of chemotherapy given every 2 weeks. Week 1: Inpatient 18B – Short Term Care Unit. Day 1: Etoposide, Methotrexate and Dactinomycin Day 2: Etoposide and Dactinomycin Days 2 to 5: Filgrastim injection, the first injection in the hospital, the rest at home. Week 2.
